Die Cut and Derivations, a group exhibition at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, cnr  Montreal St and Worcester Blvd, 11 March – 2 July 2023.

An exhibition that predominantly draws from the Christchurch Art Gallery’s collection, Die Cut and Derivations explores and animates our experience and expectations of space, ‘through line, materials and improvisation’. Among its many impressive works are Pauline Rhodes’ ’Blue Mind Sampler, 2020, an installation of numerous possible paths to walk around in the artist’s strange new world. Also, worthy of attention are a surprisingly playful Gordon Walters work on paper, Untitled from 1954, and a puzzling expansive floor installation by Peter Robinson, Die Cut and Derivations an experience indeed, for the mind and body.
