The Nature Photography Society of New Zealand (NPSNZ) has been in existence for 27 years, established to provide a non-competitive environment where members could share images and advance their photography.    In 2021, its bi-annual photography exhibition, Colours of Nature, is being held at Art on the Quay in Kaiapoi.  The Photography Society endeavours to hold an exhibition of its images every two years. This year, members were asked to submit images for an exhibition that responded to the theme Colours of Nature.  The Society currently has over 140 members, mostly from around Canterbury.   However, it also has membership scattered throughout the country, from Auckland to Gore and the West Coast of the South Island, as well as a couple of international members.    NPSNZ is open to anyone who wishes to be a member.
